Ruby Part 2

Hi,

I gone and did it again I left it ages to write anything. In my defence I have been massively busy making things and going (and guesting) to cons.
I haven't had to much time to myself but I did in this time finish a few projects one of them being Ruby.

So here are the last steps in finishing the cosplay.



A few days after I finished the cloak from the last post I started work on the waistcoat and skirt.

They were made with very easy patterns from simplicity check it out HERE (Cape pattern is HERE I don't think I linked it before)

The skirt is crushed velvet and the waist coat was actually green dress lining. 

Then it sat like this for ages until I got off my bum and finished her.

I wasn't happy that the waistcoat wasn't patterned so I decided I would paint it.

Using metallic fabric paints I painted a few patterns and flowers on it so it was closer to the pattern in the show.


I then made the shirt using the same pattern as the waistcoat and skirt. I made this from Chiffon.


Last bits I needed to do were the hems shirt and skirt were straight forward normal hems but the waistcoat I used a silky green bias tape which I think worked really well.

Any way she is ready for this Sunday at Reading Comic Con.

I just wanted to share a bit more of my Cosplay work in progress. Daedric Armour is coming along nicely. I finished sanding. All the piece sanded ready for paint. Got as much a I could painted until I ran out of spray paint. The next thing I'm working in is the Cheshire Cat from Alice Madness Returns. I am using a different medium on this I am using Worbla . Worbla I just brilliant you heat it and it becomes pliable, then you mould it in to shape and it hardens this way. This is what I've done so far. Its very messy but I think I am doing well with it. The House Of Night - Not really a review but what I think of it....

Hello All, I hope you are all very well this fine Sunday. So yesterday I finished Redeemed the last book in the House Of Night. I have been reading these books since about 2010 is started reading them a little late as the first book came out in 2007. The series is made up of 12 books and 4 novellas. The books are: Marked Betrayed Chosen Untamed Hunted Tempted Burned Awakened Destined Hidden Revealed Redeemed The novellas are: Dragon's Oath Lenobia's Vow Nerefet's Curse Kalona's Fall This series is essentially about a vampire finishing school The House Of Night. The vampires in these books are different to traditional vampires, they are marked as vampires as teenagers by the Goddess Nyx and not every fledgling vampire makes the Change. Overdone Cosplay

So I have been thinking about this for a while now and here are my top 5 overdone cosplays. 5. Arkham City Harley Quinn. It seems cosplay is all about BOOBS!! and what a way to show them off is with this cosplay. 4. Moxxie Another booby one its seems that people without imagination go for boobs. But if you really look at her you can see she is a bit of an ugly trollop. 3. Any Ninja from Naruto They are everywhere. These don't annoy me as much as booby cosplay but the head bands tend to blind me when there are millions of them in a row. 2. Deadpool Now I love the merc with a mouth he's awesome but seeing a sea of red and black is a tad annoying. 1. Elsa Frozen Not only is it a overdone cosplay it is a really over hyped movie that everyone seems to love for some unknown reason and the fact you see them everywhere boils the blood.
